I began my career in conservation in 2016 when I was accepted to West Dean College (now West Dean College of Arts and Conservation), in the south of England. As part of the Books and Library Materials Department I developed a wide range of techniques focusing on bound volumes and parchment. In addition to practical hand-skills, I also studied conservation ethics and applied science. Throughout my studies I carried out work for the Admiralty Library (Portsmouth, UK), The Foundling Museum (London, UK), The Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum (Bournemouth, UK), along with a variety of smaller museums/libraries, and private clients.
I completed a two-month internship at the Amsterdam City Archives (Stadsarchief Amsterdam) beginning in January 2018. There I focused intensively on paper-based flatwork, including the flattening and repair of architectural drawing on tracing paper. I also assisted in the set-up and removal of exhibitions.
I completed my Masters of Conservation September 2018 and moved back to the United States. I am currently the Gladys Brooks Conservation Fellow at the University of Notre Dame.
I am an AIC member.
