Unfortunately, there aren’t any before pictures of this little project. It is an architectural drawing of an Amsterdam home on tracing paper, which came to me split into quadrants with an envelope of small pieces that had broken off along the inner torn edges.
The drawing was repaired with strips of heat-set tissue 2-4 mm wide.
Once the small pieces were reattached, the quadrants were also reassembled. The heat-set tissue was used to bridge the areas of loss. The bridges were applied in line with horizontal strokes in the drawing whenever possible to help the eye overlook the repairs.
The repairs stand out in these photos, but once the drawing was mounted on a white background, they all but disappeared.
